Jurgen Klopp should make an exception and go all out to sign this relegated Premier League starlet – opinion

Liverpool opinion: Jurgen Klopp should go all out to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham

Fulham’s relegation seems to have hit Ryan Sessegnon hard. The 18-year-old English sensation was expected to achieve great things with the Cottagers, but they followed Huddersfield down to the Championship.

The 18-year-old posted an emotional message on Twitter claiming that he would give it his all till the end of the campaign, however, he didn’t speak about his future.

Ryan Sessegnon

Football.london reports that the 18-year-old is on the radar of Liverpool

, along with Manchester United and Tottenham.

The Mirror adds that Fulham had slapped a price tag of £50million last summer, and it will be interesting to see if they want to sell given that Sessegnon is a free agent after 2020.

The Englishman might still cost a hefty fee as Fulham plan for a tough season in the Championship, but Liverpool should make a dash for Sessegnon.

Jurgen Klopp had recently claimed that the Reds weren’t looking to make big signings in the summer, however, the German needs to rethink that.

A talent for the future

Sessegnon was one of the best players in the Championship in the previous season. The 18-year-old managed 16 goals and eight assists in their promotion season, but this season has been a different story.

The youngster has played 30 games (21 starts) in the Premier League but has just two goals and six assists to his name.

There is a lot of talent in the youngster and he can do a job in attack and defence. Sessegnon has played as a striker, left-winger and left-back this season, with some of his better performances coming on the left wing/midfield.

Liverpool have a quality team but could do with some competition for certain positions. The left-back and wingers need to be on their toes and Sessegnon could do that.

Alberto Moreno’s future is up in the air while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane face competition from Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge.

The 18-year-old is still rough around the edges and has been average throughout the season. However, Klopp could unlock the English youngster’s potential should Liverpool sign him next season.

The Reds have made it a habit of signing players from relegated teams under Klopp. Georginio Wijnaldum, Andy Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri have been signed from relegated clubs and it would be great if we could swoop in for Sessegnon ahead of the others in the summer.
