Latest Liverpool news: Nabil Fekir’s agent claims star passed medical during failed summer move
Jean-Pierre Bernes, the soon to be former agent of Nabil Fekir, has claimed that the player had passed a medical with Liverpool last summer.
The Frenchman was reported to have taken photographs wearing the Liverpool jersey, however, the Mirror claims that the deal was halted by the Reds regarding problems with the Lyon star’s medical.
The report adds that Bernes and Fekir are not on speaking terms and the French attacker will seek a new agent after 17th April.
The agent told L’Equipe (h/t Mirror):
“It is not about staying here.
“And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir’s move to Liverpool. The knee was a part of it, but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”
Fekir on the move again
The report adds that Fekir and Tanguy Ndombele are set to leave Lyon as the pair have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with club president Jean-Michel Aulas.
Fekir has been in great form for the Ligue 1 side this season and seems set to take them to the Champions League again.
The 25-year-old has 12 goals and 7 assists in all competitions and was one of their star performers against Manchester City earlier in the season.
Reading his former agent’s comments, it is interesting to see that the Frenchman passed his medical and there could have been another reason for the failed move to Liverpool.

Liverpool have done well without the attacking midfielder, however, there have been some games where we have missed that additional creative spark in the midfield.
