Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds interested in signing Paris FC youngster
The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are interested in 19-year-old Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka.
The youngster signed a deal with the Ligue 2 side in the summer but has done reasonably well with eight goals from 24 games this season.
Liverpool aren’t the only ones interested in him, with Schalke, Marseille, Lille, Fiorentina, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest all tracking the Congo-born youngster (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Paris FC’s assistant manager, Stephane Gilli, was also asked about Wamangituka and the reported interest from Barcelona and Liverpool, and praised the youngster (h/t Get French Football News):
“We want him to stay, but there is always that financial aspect, and he is a player who has a massive potential.
“He is a great lad who works hard though, and all this interest around him has not changed him. His mindset and behaviour have been very good.”
Still has a lot to learn
Gilli also claimed that the 19-year-old is quick and has good technical ability, however, there is a lot in his game that needed polishing.
The assistant manager added that his play off the ball and positioning need to be worked on. Gilli further claimed that Wamangituka initially joined the side to play for the reserve team but the club signed him as they believed he has a lot of potential.

Liverpool have some quality young strikers coming through at the moment with Paul Glatzel and Bobby Duncan scoring for fun, however, it is always great to keep an eye on the next big talent coming through the other leagues.
