Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds keep an eye on Memphis Depay as possible replacement for Sadio Mane
The Mirror reports that Liverpool are keeping an eye on Memphis Depay of Lyon, four years after missing out on the Dutch attacker who joined Manchester United.
The report claims that the 25-year-old is valued at £50million and wants to leave the French giants for another chance in one of the bigger leagues.
The Dutchman signed for Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United but struggled to make an impact before moving to France on a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old has returned to the national side and the report claims that the Reds are keeping their options open should they lose Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese has been linked with Real Madrid, but the report adds that Liverpool have no intention of selling the former Southampton attacker.
Depay and Mane in great form
Depay has been great this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions for Lyon.
The 25-year-old has also been in excellent form for the national side, having scored three goals in his last two games.
Mane has also been doing his bit for Liverpool and has 17 Premier League goals for us this season. The Senegal star kept the goals coming in when Mohamed Salah’s shooting boots went missing, and the pair have been excellent since last season.
Mane signed a long-term deal with the Reds earlier in the season and is one of the best in the world, so snapping him up will be difficult for any club.

It is a good move to keep options for some of our stars but it will take a miracle to see Mane leave a high-flying Liverpool team anytime soon.
