Latest Liverpool transfer news: Atletico Madrid submit £50m for Lorenzo Insigne
Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Atletico Madrid have submitted a £50m bid for Liverpool target Lorenzo Insigne.
The Italian attacker has been in great touch for Napoli and has scored 13 times this season with 6 assists in all competitions.
The report adds that Napoli rejected the bid by Diego Simeone’s team and Arsenal are also interested in the 27-year-old Italian.
Insigne’s future remains uncertain, according to the report, and the Italian recently claimed that he is keeping his options open should the right offer come for him.
A talent that could do a great job at Anfield
The Italian has been one of the most consistent performers in the Serie A over the past few years, and he would make an excellent signing for the Reds.
Insigne can play as the main striker or out wide, while he is also capable of starring as a central attacking midfielder.
Atletico Madrid already have a quality striker in Diego Costa and signed Alvaro Morata on loan from Chelsea in the winter window.
Roberto Firmino is the first-choice striker for the Reds currently, and we have Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge in the team too.
