Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds keen on signing Belgian ace Thorgan Hazard

Liverpool are interested in signing Eden Hazard’s brother, Thorgan Hazard, according to DH (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The 26-year-old has been excellent at Borussia Monchengladbach since joining the Bundesliga side from Chelsea.

The Belgian started his career with Lens before joining Chelsea. The younger Hazard didn’t make a first-team appearance for the Blues and spent two seasons at Zulte Waregem before moving to the Bundesliga side.

Hazard scored 11 goals in all competitions for Monchengladbach last season and has already surpassed that with 12 this campaign.

The 26-year-old also has a couple of goals for the Belgian national side and has nine assists for Monchengladbach this season.

Hazard’s signing is not a foregone conclusion

The deal does have a bit of a snag as the report claims that the Belgian is unsure about his playing time at Anfield.

The youngster has one year left on his current deal and the report adds that he is valued at £35m.

Hazard can play in several positions, which would be handy for the Reds. The Belgian’s preferred position is on the flanks and he could provide competition and cover to the Liverpool attackers.

The 26-year-old can also play as an attacking midfielder, something we have missed in some games this season, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move once the summer window opens.
