Latest Liverpool news: Several supporters full of praise for Jordan Henderson’s performance against Porto
Jordan Henderson was played in an advanced position in a three-man midfield by Jurgen Klopp, and the Englishman did a great job for Liverpool.
Hendo was fantastic throughout the evening against Porto as he helped create the second goal and could have had an assist but Sadio Mane’s effort was ruled offside.
The Liverpool captain has mostly been deployed as a deep lying midfielder under Klopp, but it was refreshing to see the Englishman thrive in an advanced position.
Hendo continues his good work since Southampton
Two games don’t define a season for a player but Hendo’s cameo against Southampton changed the game for us.
He scored a goal and assisted another at St. Mary’s and was one of the best players on Tuesday against Porto.
Naby Keita got the opener via a deflected shot before Hendo played an inch-perfect pass for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Englishman crossed the ball perfectly for Roberto Firmino to make it 2-0 at half-time.
Liverpool managed the game well and left something in the tank as we face Chelsea at the weekend.
The Reds know they have to beat the Blues on Sunday to keep the pressure on Manchester City. The Cityzens lost their first leg Champions League quarter-final against Tottenham and play Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Several fans were impressed by Hendo’s performance against Porto and praised the Liverpool captain on Twitter.
