Latest Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah will not face retrospective action for tackle on Danilo
The Liverpool Echo reports that Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah will not face retrospective action for his tackle on Porto’s Danilo.
The Liverpool forward caught the Porto midfielder high on his leg in the second half but no action was taken against him.
Salah missed the ball and ended up hitting Danilo, but the report claims that the referees had already reviewed the incident and the forward cannot face more punishment due to UEFA’s disciplinary regulations.
The Egyptian had a decent game against Porto and should have scored a goal or two. He had one great chance which he dragged wide but Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners in the end.
Salah getting back to his best
The Egyptian had struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks but scored an important goal against Southampton on Friday.
The Reds were trailing against the Saints but goals from Naby Keita, Salah and Jordan Henderson ensured we moved ahead of Manchester City in the league table.
Porto still had some quality chances in the game and we need to be wary of them in the second leg.

Salah should play against the Portuguese side in the return leg, and hopefully, he finds the back of the net and takes us to the semi-finals of the competition.
