Liverpool FC transfer news: Bobby Adekanye’s agent explains why starlet will not remain at Anfield
Liverpool starlet Bobby Adekanye seems set to leave the club in the summer as his contract comes to an end, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The former Barcelona youth player joined the Reds in 2015, and the Express reported that the youngster has rejected a three-year deal.
Adekanye’s agent spoke with Corriere dello Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo) and claimed the player hasn’t decided on his future but it should be clear in the coming weeks.
The agent also spoke about Italian club Lazio’s interested in the youngster and added he was happy with the chance of playing for the Serie A side:
“They showed interest and a good project for Bobby. Contacts started a bit over a month ago. He’s very interested in playing in Italy, very happy about Lazio’s interest and the possibility of playing there.”
Liverpool not the right place for Adekanye
The youngster’s agent added that Liverpool wasn’t the right place for Adekanye’s development but believed Lazio was the right place for his development:
“Bobby decided to not continue at Liverpool because he wants to play somewhere he can grow and show his worth at a high level. Lazio is the perfect place to do it.”
The agent concluded by saying that Lazio have given chances to young players before and knew how to take them to the next level.
The Italian club have a couple of former Liverpool players in Luis Alberto and Lucas Leiva doing well.
