Liverpool FC transfer news: The Reds chase Ajax star Hakim Ziyech
Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech could be heading to the Premier League with a quartet of top clubs watching the Moroccan international, report the Daily Mirror.
Liverpool want to strengthen in the summer, even if Jurgen Klopp guides the Reds to the Premier League or Champions League title. Klopp appears to add depth to his attacking ranks with the signature of Hakim Ziyech, while Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in the Moroccan, adds the Daily Mirror.
Ziyech, 26, has enjoyed a fantastic campaign with Ajax, supplying with 19 goals and 20 assists in 43 games across all competitions.
His performances have caught the attention of a host of Premier League bigwigs, including Liverpool and even though he is contracted at Ajax until the summer of 2021, the Daily Mirror claims he can leave the Eredivisie giants in the summer for £25million.
Ajax are top of the Eredivisie, through to their domestic cup final, and will meet Tottenham in the Champions League semi-finals having seen off European giants Real Madrid and Juventus in the previous two rounds. The Dutch side will certainly do everything possible to keep hold of Ziyech as manager Erik ten Hag is creating something beautiful at the club.
Liverpool should go for Hakim Ziyech
Ziyech joined Ajax in 2016 from Twente and has continued to progress at a very quick rate. He is now rated as one of the standout players in the Eredivisie, although he has shown he can shine on a bigger stage, too.
The Moroccan can light up matches with moments of individual brilliance. He is a tireless worker off the ball and can make an impression with the ball at his feet.
