Nicolas Pepe has been one of the stars for Lille this season as the Ivorian has bagged 20 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
The Metro reports that Arsenal and Chelsea have been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, who is only behind Kylian Mbappe in the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts.
L’Equipe (h/t Metro) adds that Liverpool made an enquiry earlier in the month and are interested in the attacker.
There is also interest from Italian giants Inter Milan, and the report claims that the club have bid somewhere around £52m and £60m for Pepe.
The report adds that Lille expect higher bids to come in for the attack with Bayern Munich and PSG competing with Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has been in fine form since last season. The right-winger bagged 13 goals and four assists in Ligue 1 last time around and has already surpassed that number in this campaign.
Liverpool don’t have quality wingers who could cover Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge have done alright, but they can’t compare with the Egyptian and Senegalese out wide.
Pepe seems unlikely to come on the cheap, and it will be interesting to see where he could land up in the summer.
Many Liverpool fans believed he could take us to the next level and shared their excitement on Twitter.
