Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds still interested in Lyon’s Nabil Fekir

Liverpool were close to signing Nabil Fekir in the summer but the deal fell through despite him being pictured wearing our jersey (h/t Mirror).

The Frenchman seems to be on our radar once again, according to L’Equipe (h/t Mirror), as we want to sign him in the upcoming summer window.

The report adds that the World Cup winner is set to leave the Ligue 1 giants in the summer, and the Frenchman even changed his agent to complete a move.

Liverpool aren’t the only ones interested in the Frenchman with Juventus also keeping an eye on the 25-year-old.

The report claims that Fekir is out of contract in 2020 and the club’s president does not want to lose him for free.

Fekir on form for Lyon

The Frenchman didn’t play much in the World Cup but has been excellent for Lyon this season.

The 25-year-old has scored 12 times and has 9 assists to his name in all competitions. The report adds that Lyon wanted €70million for Fekir in the previous summer window but Juventus want him for a cheaper price.

The Reds didn’t seal a move for the Frenchman but it doesn’t seem to have affected us much as we are in the race for the Premier League and Champions League.

The Frenchman would provide more creativity in our side should he join, and it will be interesting to see what our plans are in the summer.
