Latest Liverpool news: Naby Keita could miss rest of the season after groin injury

The Liverpool Echo reports that Naby Keita will miss the rest of the season after picking up an injury against Barcelona.

The Guinea midfielder injured his groin in the first half against the Catalans, and the report claims that the Reds’ medical staff fear he is done for the season.

The midfielder had been in decent touch recently and had scored three goals for the Reds since the start of April.

Keita’s injury will be a bit of a blow to the Reds as they have three more games remaining in the season, should they not make it to the Champions League final.

The Reds have a huge task as they need to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg against the Catalans, but their attention has to be on Newcastle at the weekend.

A tough clash for the Reds

Liverpool face one of their former managers, Rafa Benitez, on Saturday and need to pick up all three points from St. James’ Park.

That would take us to the top of the table before Manchester City play on Monday against Leicester City.

The Foxes are managed by Brendan Rodgers and both former Liverpool managers could have a huge say on where the  Premier League title heads.
