Latest Liverpool transfer news: Bayern Munich hold all negotiations with Timo Werner till end of season
Kicker (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Bayern Munich have stopped their opening negotiations regarding Timo Werner till the end of the season.
The German has been in great form for RB Leipzig with 18 goals and five assists in all competitions.
The 23-year-old hasn’t signed a new deal with the Bundesliga side and the report claims he could leave in the summer.
The report adds that Liverpool are on alert regarding the 23-year-old, who will have one year left on his current contract after this season.
Reds could lose strikers in the summer
Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the player, according to the report, and Daniel Sturridge could leave the club in the summer.
Divock Origi’s future isn’t guaranteed at Liverpool and the Reds will face a lot of competition to sign the German international, according to the report.
Werner would be an excellent addition to this team and the German would provide competition to Roberto Firmino.
The forward has played in the wide positions this season for Leipzig while he also can do a job as a central attacking midfielder.
The Reds have an excellent first XI but we don’t have the best backup for our front three of Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Werner has age on his side and could develop into a better player under the management of Klopp.
