Chukwueze is a quick right-winger, who has the capability of playing as the central striker as well.

The report claims that the 19-year-old was named as Nigeria’s Young Footballer of the Year in 2018, and has been likened to Arjen Robben.

Atletico Madrid, Leicester City and Arsenal have also been linked with the Nigerian in the past, and the report claims that the winger has a release clause of £54million.

Chukwueze, known as Samu, could be available for a lower price with guaranteed bonuses, according to the Daily Mail.

The youngster hasn’t been shy in front of goal this season for Villarreal. The 19-year-old has eight goals and three assists for the La Liga side in the campaign.

This is his first senior season with the La Liga team and he doesn’t look out of his depth. The Nigerian has time to hone his skills, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the summer.

Liverpool could do with a winger joining and providing cover for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Xherdan Shaqiri is the only recognised senior winger in the side while Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge have been shoehorned into the wide role at times this season.

Samu needs to start games regularly for his growth, which would be difficult to achieve at Liverpool. However, he would be part of one of the most exciting teams in recent years and play under Jurgen Klopp.
