Virgil van Dijk looks like a man who not only knows what he is doing but also gets the players on track.

The 27-year-old has marshalled the defence well this season and has often ordered instructions to his fellow defenders.

The Dutch defender has worn the captain’s armband this season in the absence of Jordan Henderson and James Milner, and the centre-back had a crucial role to play in our third goal against Newcastle.

The 27-year-old had scored the opening goal of the game, but the Reds were pegged back by the homes side.

The scoreline was 2-2 and Mohamed Salah had been replaced by Divock Origi. Jurgen Klopp had thrown on Xherdan Shaqiri too.

Van Dijk orders Shaq to take the free-kick

Van Dijk can be seen ordering Shaq to take the free-kick but Trent Alexander-Arnold looked set to deliver from the position.

The Englishman had recorded a couple of assists in the game already but the Swiss star’s free-kick was excellent as Origi rose high to score the winner.

The Belgian has scored a couple of important winners for us this season, but Van Dijk has been incredible for the Reds this season, and he seems to be doing his bit in every game.

The Dutchman seems to have the respect of the Liverpool players and hopefully, he can celebrate some silverware come the end of the campaign.
