Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds interested in signing Rennes star Ismaila Sarr

Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Liverpool are interested in signing Rennes star Ismaila Sarr.

The 21-year-old has been great for the Ligue 1 giants and helped them reach the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Senegal international plays alongside Liverpool star Sadio Mane and even participated in the World Cup.

Sarr has scored 11 times this season for Rennes and has provided eight assists for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions.

The 21-year-old has been deployed in several positions this season, but most of his games have come on the right side of the attack.

The report adds that the youngster is under contract with Rennes till 2021.

Another African signing for Liverpool?

The Reds seem to have signed some quality from African countries under Jurgen Klopp.

Joel Matip came on a free while Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been excellent since joining.

Naby Keita took some time to showcase his talent, and just when the Guinea midfielder was getting into form, he suffered a season-ending injury at Barcelona.

Sarr could be another smart signing by Klopp as the Senegal international can play on either side of the attack or the midfield.
