Liverpool FC transfer news: Divock Origi to be sold in the summer by Reds
Divock Origi has scored a couple of crucial goals for Liverpool this season. The 24-year-old Belgian came off the bench to net the third goal in our 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday.
The former Lille forward also scored the winner against Everton when Jordan Pickford failed to deal with a looping shot.
The 24-year-old is a bit of a hero thanks to his late goals in an incredible campaign for us, however, the Liverpool Echo (h/t Daily Star) claims that Origi will be put up for sale.
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp is contemplating moving for a striker in the summer with the likes of Timo Werner and Nicolas Pepe linked with the club.
Origi was almost sold to Wolves
Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers had agreed on a deal for Origi earlier in the season but the Belgian turned that move down to remain at the club, according to the report.
Daniel Sturridge is also set to leave the club on a free, according to the report, and the Liverpool management believe they need a quality striker as Roberto Firmino’s injury has proved that we don’t have a lot of depth in this position.
Origi has come out of the wilderness to score a couple of important goals for us, and the Belgian is willing to play out wide when he should be played down the middle.
The 24-year-old has always given 100% on the pitch, and hopefully, he moves to a club where he starts regularly.

Liverpool could do with an upgrade on Sturridge and Origi in the summer. The Reds have a great first XI but we need cover for several players ahead of next season.
