Latest Liverpool news: Georginio Wijnaldum destroys two Barcelona players with one move
Georginio Wijnaldum came onto the pitch with a lot of work left for the Reds to do against Barcelona.
Liverpool were leading 1-0 at half-time as the Dutch midfielder replaced the injured Andy Robertson.
The Reds still needed to score at least two more goals to cancel Barcelona’s 3-0 lead from the first leg, and the midfielder certainly did his bit.
This was an epic Champions League semi-final second leg performance as we wiped the floor with Barcelona.
Almost every Liverpool star played out of their skins and it all started with Divock Origi scoring an early goal.
Barca never had a foothold in the game but did have some chances. Alisson was in top form keeping Lionel Messi out several times, but credit must go to every player out there.
Wijnaldum might not have started but his brace seemed to give him a lot of confidence. The Dutch midfielder showcased his incredible skills in the game as Arthur and Sergio Busquets tried to take the ball off him.
Quick as he can be, Wijnaldum flicks the ball into the other direction and sets off to start another attack.

The Barca pair did not know what hit them, and this was pure magic on the pitch by Gini.
Wijnaldum comes up big for Liverpool
The Dutchman isn’t the most prolific goalscorer for the Reds but his brace will live long in the memories.
The first goal was a late run in the box as he smashed in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross.
The second was a fantastic header from a Xherdan Shaqiri ball, and Barcelona did not know what hit them.
Origi and Alexander-Arnold combined to take a quick corner which the Belgian converted, and the Reds held on for one of their greatest footballing nights ever.

Wijnaldum gave it his all and more, and we can prepare for the final in Madrid but first, the last day of the Premier League campaign beckons where we have a chance of lifting the title.
