Latest Liverpool news: Virgil van Dijk isn’t ruling out another miracle on Sunday
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is hoping for another miracle as the Premier League race goes down to the final day.
Manchester City lead Liverpool by one point and we need Brighton to avoid defeat against the Cityzens.
The Reds have to win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at home to have any chance of winning their first Premier League crown.
Liverpool came back to defeat Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Champions League final as they believed in themselves, and Van Dijk claimed anything is possible ahead of Sunday’s games (h/t Mirror):
“There’s still a game to go and Brighton away is not easy.
“But Wolves at home is certainly not easy either.”
The Dutch defender added that we need to get the three points and the team needed to be focused.
“We’ll see what’s going to happen in Brighton. If it happens, it happens, we have no influence on that. Anything is still possible.”
Van Dijk claims more is to come from the Reds
The Dutch defender has been excellent this season and was not going to fret if we did not capture the title on Sunday.
Van Dijk claimed that City would deserve the Premier League crown if they won their final game of the season and wanted the Reds to hold their “heads up high” after a fantastic campaign.
The former Southampton defender believed there was more to come from the team and was confident of success in the coming years:
“It’s just the start. It’s not like next year we’re not going to try to do it again. It’s something we have to build on. I’m definitely a proud man anyway.
“We have a great age group. Between 20 and 27, 28, so hopefully we can do it altogether for the next couple of years at least and grow as a team and hopefully get a lot of success.”

The win over Barcelona should give us a lot of confidence going into the final day of the season. There have been some crazy finishes to our games this season, and another miracle cannot be ruled out after an epic season.
