Liverpool-linked midfielder drops possible Premier League hint and lauds English domination in Europe

Liverpool FC transfer news: Nicolo Barella hints at possible Premier League move

Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella has hinted at a move to the Premier League while speaking to Radiolina (h/t Calciomercato).

The 22-year-old has been impressive for the Serie A team and has even played for the national team this season.

The report claims that AS Roma, Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli are interested in the 22-year-old, and the youngster was going to wait till the end of the season to decide his future.

“There are three games left and I want to make the most out of them. Then we will sit down with the president and my agent to evaluate the best future for me and for Cagliari.”

The report adds that Liverpool also have the player on their radar and Barella spoke about the recent domination by the English sides in Europe while playing down links with Inter:

“Reports about an agreement with Inter? I know nothing about this. England? At the moment it is the best football, the two European finals will have four English teams.”

Cagliari want close to €40m (h/t Calciomercato)for the impressive youngster, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the coming transfer window.

Another quality midfielder coming to Anfield?

The Reds signed a couple of midfielders last summer and Fabinho has been excellent for the team this season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has also returned from a serious knee injury and Liverpool are well-stocked in the midfield positions currently.

Barella can play as an attacking midfielder too and could be a quality signing. The youngster has a load of potential and he could develop even better under Jurgen Klopp.
