Liverpool FC transfer news: Nicolas Pepe will not discuss his future till season is done
Liverpool have been linked with Lille winger Nicolas Pepe (h/t Liverpool Echo) but the Ivorian will not discuss his future until the season is done.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Les Dogues, having racked up 20 goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1.
The Ligue 1 side is set to play in the Champions League next season and the youngster was asked about his future but he wasn’t giving anything away (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“We don’t talk about it, the season is not over yet. Once it is finished we will be able to talk about it, but now no.”
Lille have a couple of games left this season and Pepe could make a big move in the summer.
Liverpool need more attackers?
The Reds have one of the best attacks in football. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane validated that by sharing the Golden Boot this season with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Roberto Firmino is another star in our attack and it is difficult to see who Pepe could replace in the starting XI.
However, the Reds don’t have quality wingers on the bench apart from Xherdan Shaqiri. The Swiss hasn’t played regularly for us this season and we could do with another threat on the bench.

Pepe is a starter for Lille and might not accept that role with the Reds, however, we are one of the best teams in the world and playing under Jurgen Klopp could be a factor that draws talent to Anfield.
