Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds to battle Tottenham for Maxi Gomez
Liverpool are interested in Celta Vigo star Maxi Gomez, and Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old forward.
The Uruguayan hitman has scored 14 times in all competitions for the La Liga side this season, and the report claims that the forward wants to move to the Premier League.
Gomez would not come on the cheap as the 22-year-old has a €50million release clause, and the report adds that the Celta star rejected a move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
Liverpool and Spurs are set to fight it out for the Champions League final too, and it will be interesting to see where Gomez ends up at the end of the season.
Celta lie 17th in La Liga and have flirted with relegation throughout the campaign.
Liverpool could bank on two young attackers
The Reds should see Rhian Brewster play more for the first-team next season after recovering from a long-term injury this campaign.
Divock Origi has reborn this season and the Belgian has scored some important goals for us.
Daniel Sturridge is out of a contract in the summer and we could do with some quality cover for Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian knows his role well in the team and gets the best out of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane out wide.

Gomez isn’t as versatile as Origi or Brewster as the Liverpool pair can play out wide. The Reds have a great team currently, and the right signings could take us to another level next season.
