Liverpool FC transfer news: Hertha Berlin boss wants to discuss future of Marko Grujic with Jurgen Klopp
Marko Grujic was one of the successful loan stories for Liverpool this season.
The 23-year-old Serbian spent the season at Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin and impressed despite suffering a couple of nasty injuries.
The midfielder racked up six goals and an assist for Hertha this season from 21 Bundesliga appearances.
Pal Dardai, the Hertha manager, claimed that Grujic was the best midfielder he had seen during his spell at the club (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Grujic spent the previous season on loan at Cardiff where he excelled for the Bluebirds. Hertha chief Michael Preetz wants to discuss the future of the 23-year-old with Jurgen Klopp, according to Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“After the champion fight in England is over, I’ll now call Jurgen Klopp.”
More time away for Grujic?
The Serbian’s growth in the previous two seasons has been great and another season away from Anfield should provide him with regular starts unlike the situation at Anfield.
The 23-year-old needs to play regularly and there is severe competition for the midfield spots at Liverpool. Klopp has done a great job mixing his team around and leading us to second place in the Premier League.
The Reds also have the Champions League final against Tottenham on June 1 and hopefully, we can win the title for the sixth time.

Grujic was Klopp’s first signing when the German became the Liverpool manager, and it will be interesting to see what decision is taken regarding the Serbian in the summer.
