Liverpool opinion: Real Madrid wasting time over Mohamed Salah

The season isn’t even over but the transfer rumours are already linking some of our players away with a move. The Reds had a fantastic domestic campaign but even with a record 97 points, we missed out on the title.

Jurgen Klopp’s men could still end the season with a trophy as we face Tottenham in the Champions League final, and almost every single senior player has done their bit for the club.

Our defence has been incredible while our midfield has done its bit. Our attack wasn’t bad either as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane shared the Golden Boot with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season.

This was the second straight season where Salah picked up the Golden Boot and Canal+ (h/t Metro) claims that Real Madrid are set to approach Liverpool regarding a deal for the Egyptian.

Madrid had a poor season and are looking to rebuild under Zinedine Zidane, and we have a history of losing our best players to Spanish sides.

Salah is one of the best in the world and even if Real bid an incredible amount, it might not be enough to see the Egyptian switch from red to white (h/t Metro).

A different Liverpool under Klopp

The German has built a team from the ashes that Brendan Rodgers left behind and we have improved in each season under Klopp.

We are Champions League regulars now and are set to play in our third European final under the former Borussia Dortmund manager.

The Reds are on the up as we only missed out on the Premier League title by one point, and will give Manchester City a run for their money next season too.

Salah also seems to enjoy playing for the Reds as he is one of the stars at the club while moving to Real would make him just another player to have donned the Madrid white.

The La Liga giants aren’t on the same solid base as we are and there is no guarantee they will do well next season even if they make big moves in the summer.

The Reds have a fairly young side and will only improve in the coming seasons. Klopp has worked on every department at the club, and there is no doubt there will be further tweaks in the team next season too.

Salah, along with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, signed new deals to remain at the Reds, and the trio work well together in our attack.

The Metro adds that Liverpool are under no pressure to sell the attacker, and we can reject the advances of Real as we look to win the first title under Klopp. Salah is a key figure at Anfield, similar to many of the other stars, and going to Real could be a risk that doesn’t pay off.

The Reds are on the verge of something incredible under the German manager, and Real need to look elsewhere as they try to bring back their glory days.

They can bid as much as they want but we don’t have to sell our stars at the moment.
