Liverpool FC transfer news: Steven Gerrard confirms Rangers bid for Ryan Kent
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard confirmed that Rangers submitted a bid to keep hold of Ryan Kent.
The 22-year-old joined the Gers on loan last season and ended the campaign with six goals and nine assists in all competitions.
The Liverpool winger also won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award. Gerrard enjoyed a great first season in charge and led the Gers to second place in the league.
The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds value Kent at £12million but Gerrard wants another loan deal for the 22-year-old (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“We’re doing everything we can.
“We’ve spoken to Liverpool, we’re in touch with Ryan’s representatives and we’ve made an offer.
“But there’s nothing to say on it or to confirm it. For our supporters, what I can do is guarantee that I’m doing everything I can to get him in for another season.”
Liverpool looking at making some decent money from Kent
Kent would find it tough to break into the Liverpool first-team and his chances would be limited should he return next season.
The 22-year-old still needs to improve and sending him out on another loan deal could see the Englishman reach another level.
The other decision Liverpool could take is to sell him for a decent amount as his stock is high after a decent season with the Gers.
Liverpool have two of the best wingers in the world playing for the first-team while Harry Wilson has enjoyed a fantastic campaign with Derby County so far.
