Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool close to signing highly-rated keeper Jakub Ojrzynski

The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are close to signing Polish keeper Jakub Ojrzynski for around £200,000. The highly-rated 16-year-old is expected to join Liverpool in the summer from his current club Legia Warsaw.

The report adds that the goalkeeper also attracted interest from Juventus, Valencia and Manchester United.

The youngster is expected to join the U18 side at Kirkby when pre-season starts in July, according to the report.

Ojrzynski joins another Pole at Anfield

Ojrzynski will join another Polish keeper at Anfield, with Kamil Grabara spending a part of last season on loan at AGF Aarhus.

The young Pole also had a trial with the Reds earlier and the report claims that Jurgen Klopp was watching the team at Melwood.

The Reds currently have a lot of competition for places in the first-team and it will be interesting to track the development of Ojrzynski in the coming seasons.

Alisson is Liverpool’s first-choice but we could do with a younger No.2 to act as the Brazilian’s understudy.

Simon Mignolet has done a great job this season despite not playing a lot of games, however, the Belgian needs to play regular games to keep his place in the national side.

The Reds’ U18 side lifted the FA Youth Cup by beating Manchester United, and Ojrzynski could be a star for Liverpool in the coming seasons if he fulfils his potential.
