Liverpool FC transfer news: Spanish journalist claims Gareth Bale could sign for Liverpool

Gareth Bale was the scourge for Liverpool in last year’s Champions League final as he helped Real Madrid beat us.

The Welshman scored a brace in the 3-1 win over us to lift the Champions League title for the fourth time, however, the Daily Star reports that the attacker could be leaving Madrid in the summer.

The report claims that a move to the Premier League could be on the cards while Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda stated that Bale could end up either at Liverpool or Tottenham (h/t Daily Star):

“Bale has spent the day playing golf at La Moraleja.

“And it is very likely that he will reach either of the two finalists in the Champions League, Tottenham or Liverpool.”

The journalist added that a move could also see Christian Eriksen and a lot of money change hands:

“That operation would be accompanied by Eriksen plus a quantity of money.”

Klopp not keen on big signings

The report adds that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t looking for big money signings and wants to sign squad players in the summer.

Bale has fallen out with current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, according to the report, and might not prefer a move to the Reds due to the competition for the attacking positions.

Gareth Bale

The Reds have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino doing a great job as a trio, and it is tough seeing the Welshman replace anyone in the front three.

Bale is also 29 and doesn’t have the greatest record of staying fit in recent seasons.

The Welshman could have been a decent option for us a couple of years ago, and it would be a major surprise if he ends up playing for Klopp.
