Latest Liverpool news: Peter Moore to speak with UEFA over Champions League final ticket allocations

Liverpool’s chief executive Peter Moore will speak to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin regarding the allocation of Champions League final tickets when they meet in Madrid.

The Reds face Tottenham in UEFA’s club showpiece event on June 1, however, the Independent reports that only 16,613 tickets were handed to each club despite the Wanda Metropolitano having a capacity of 64,000.

There isn’t much that can be done about this year’s final but Moore confirmed he would talk to the UEFA president over a number of things (h/t Independent):

“It is all the things that you think: what do we do for allocations, what do we do for this? All of the normal stuff. It is a long list.”

The Liverpool chief added that the Reds speak with UEFA regularly and have been in communication for over 40 years. Moore added that UEFA need to understand the city and shared plans on how the club was helping fans ahead of the final:

“But we do want UEFA to understand this city, which they do. Ceferin was here last year for the Manchester City home (Champions League) game and I spent a lot of time with him. I will see him next week.”

Moore also shared plans of creating a fan park in Madrid and claimed there is a lot of work to be done as the Reds are in the final.

Liverpool have experience to call upon

The Reds should be well-prepared for this final as they faced Real Madrid at the same stage of the competition last season. Liverpool might have lost that game but we go into this one as the favourites after doing the double over Tottenham this season.

The Reds have one of the best attacking line-ups in football and a fantastic defence to add to that.

Hopefully, we can break Jurgen Klopp’s duck at the club and win our first piece of silverware under the German.
