AS (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Sergio Ramos is considering leaving Real Madrid and Liverpool have been in touch with the player’s reps.
The report claims that Ramos had a fallout with Florentino Perez, and Jurgen Klopp wants to pair the Spanish defender alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Ramos is one of the most successful Spanish players ever and Klopp wants to make our defence the best in the world, according to the report. The report adds that Juventus and Manchester United are also interested in the 33-year-old.
Ramos would not come on the cheap as the report claims that the Spaniard has an £800m release clause and earns around £12.5m per season.
Although the Spaniard is a quality defender, his age and buyout clause certainly seem to be a bit too much for the Reds.
Not to forget, the centre-back injured Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final last season. The Egyptian had to leave the field on the half-hour mark and the Reds lost to Real 3-1.
Ramos certainly is a bit of a hothead and playing him alongside Van Dijk might not work out. Further, the Reds have a very good defence at the moment as Joel Matip and Joe Gomez performed incredibly well this season.
Many Liverpool fans weren’t taking this link to Ramos well, and reacted on Twitter.
