Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool are not interested in Memphis Depay
Liverpool are not interested in signing Dutch attacker Memphis Depay, according to Sky Sports.
The Dutch midfielder posted a video of him saying “Merci Lyon” as he boarded a red jet, and reports (h/t Sky Sports) suggested that the former Manchester United attacker was a target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Depay struggled during his time at Old Trafford but revived his career after moving to Lyon.
The 25-year-old helped them to third place in Ligue 1 this season and the report claims that the Reds will not be trying to complete a deal for the Dutchman.
Depay does his magic for Lyon this season
The 25-year-old was in great form for Lyon this season, nabbing 12 goals and providing 14 assists in all competitions for the side.
His form has even seen him make a return to the Dutch national side and he should be in action in the upcoming Nations League finals.
Depay could have been a decent signing and given his Premier League experience, he could excel under Klopp.
The Reds also have a couple of Dutch internationals playing for them. Georginio Wijnaldum has had his best season at Anfield since leaving Newcastle United.
