Latest Liverpool news: Roberto Firmino set to feature in CL final but Naby Keita misses out
Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press before Liverpool’s Champions League final against Tottenham on Saturday.
The Reds came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first leg of their semi-final against Barcelona and were without two key players.
Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita both missed the 4-0 win in the second leg, and Klopp had good news for one player but not great news for the other.
The German claimed that Keita would miss the final at the Wanda Metropolitano but that Firmino should be fit for the clash.
Klopp on Firmino/Keita: “No chance for Naby, he’s progressing well. Bobby
trained then we took him out. But he will be in training again tomorrow.
I’m sure he will be fine.”— James Pearce (@JamesPearceEcho) May 28, 2019
Liverpool should be alright without Keita
Liverpool did pretty well without the pair to defeat Barcelona but Firmino’s movement in the attack helps create a lot of chances for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Brazilian also does a lot of tracking back, and him being fit is a huge boost for the Reds. Keita had come into form late this season, with a few important goals for Liverpool.
It is disappointing that the former RB Leipzig star will not face Tottenham, but the Reds have several options to try out to field in their midfield.
Fabinho has been excellent this season while James Milner has also done a great job. However, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson should start for the Reds against Spurs alongside Fabinho.

Liverpool will be out to erase memories from a year back when we lost to Real Madrid in the final, and we seem to be in great shape to take on our Premier League rivals.
