Liverpool FC transfer news: Ruben Neves responds to links with Liverpool
Wolverhampton Wanderers were the surprise package of the Premier League season as they finished an impressive seventh after promotion from the Championship.
Nuno Espirito Santo has created a wonderful team filled with talent and one player making a great impression is Ruben Neves.
The 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder was one of the stars for Wolves this season as he racked up five goals and three assists in all competitions.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool (h/t Liverpool Echo), however, Neves was only concentrating on the Nations League at the moment (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“It is obvious that it is a pride to be able to take the name of Portugal further, for that is the goal,” Neves said when asked about the speculation.
“But it is not the moment to think about the future, we have a competition to win. We are focused on the next game with Switzerland.”
Switzerland face Portugal in the first semi-final while the other clash sees England battle the Netherlands.
A midfielder to bolster the team?
Neves was rated highly even before he signed for Wolves and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the summer.
The 22-year-old can feature for our midfield and will only improve in the coming seasons. Neves has proved that he can star for a Premier League side and it should only be a matter of time before he makes the jump from Wolves.
Liverpool have a quality midfield and with the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returning from injuries, there will be loads of competition for places next season.

The Reds don’t really need to make huge additions, but we could do with more quality to provide cover and competition to our top players.
