Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp doesn’t want players to take Champions League final differently from other European clashes
Liverpool play their biggest game of the season as they face Tottenham in the Champions League final on Saturday.
The Reds have the chance of finally lifting a title under Jurgen Klopp but will fly to Madrid two days after Tottenham do, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Klopp wants to treat the final clash of the season as any other European tie from the campaign, according to the report.
The Reds will reach Madrid on Friday and train on that day before Klopp faces the media for a press conference at the Wanda Metropolitano (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Mauricio Pochettino’s side, on the other hand, will reach Spain on today as they continue their preparations for the Champions League final.
Reds didn’t follow this routine last season
The report adds that Liverpool reached Kiev two days before the final last season but this time, the players will have an extra night to spend with their family and friends.
The Reds flew right after the final loss to Real Madrid last season, with Klopp holding a 5 AM meeting with the team, but the report adds that Liverpool will return on Sunday after Saturday’s final this time around.
Liverpool can exorcise their demons from last season’s loss to Madrid, and we have a stronger team than last time. We have beaten Spurs twice this season but cannot take them lightly.

Tottenham should see the likes of Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen return from injuries, and it will be an interesting game as two heavyweights clash on Saturday.
