Latest Liverpool news: Joel Matip and James Milner to be handed new deals

The Telegraph reports that Joel Matip and James Milner will be handed new contracts by Liverpool once the Champions League final is done.

Players still have a year left on their current deals

The pair joined Liverpool on free transfers and the report adds that they have one year left on their current deals.

The report adds that Milner is to be retained by the club till 2021, and the team will follow a policy where players reaching 30 will have their deals continuously reviewed each season.

Matip did a great job taking over from the injured Joe Gomez in the second half of this season and is playing his best football since arriving from Schalke.
