Latest Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah has a cheeky dig at Harry Kane ahead of Champions League final

Liverpool face Tottenham in the Champions League final on Saturday, and we will see two of the most prolific goal scorers in action at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Mohamed Salah has won the Golden Boot for consecutive seasons since his move to Liverpool, however, he had to share the prize in this campaign with Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Egyptian stole the title from Harry Kane last season, and the Englishman’s chances of winning the crown in this campaign were hindered by two injuries.

Kane is back in Tottenham’s side and should play a part in the final on Saturday.

The pair could be on the score-sheet on Saturday, and Salah was asked about Kane in BT Sport’s UCL unfiltered.

Salah praised the Englishman but had a go at his scoring record recently (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“Harry Kane is a good player and he proved for many years.

“He’s a top scorer for his team and in English football.

“Before I came!”

Salah aiming to do better than last season’s final

Salah’s final last time around was curtailed thanks to Sergio Ramos wrestling him to the ground.

The Egyptian had to leave in tears after 30 minutes and Liverpool lost the final 3-1 to Real Madrid.

The former AS Roma attacker would want to showcase his ability in the Champions League final this time around, and he should be fresh thanks to the three-week break after the Premier League campaign.
