Latest Liverpool news: Liverpool players train ahead of crunch Champions League clash against Tottenham
Liverpool trained on Friday as they play Tottenham in the Champions League final today.
The Reds were pictured training in the sunshine in Madrid, and there was some great news for Liverpool as Roberto Firmino was declared fit by Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian seemed to be in great shape ahead of the clash against Spurs, and will be helped in the attack by Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The Egyptian had to be subbed in the final last time around after Sergio Ramos’ tackle on him. The forward should be charged up for this clash and needs to be at his best against Spurs.
Firmino starting should see Divock Origi get relegated to the bench. The Belgian scored a brace in the 4-0 win over Barcelona and has done a great job for us this season.
Another pair who could miss out on the game is Dejan Lovren and James Milner. The duo should be on the bench, with Fabinho starting in place of the Englishman.
The Brazilian midfielder has done a wonderful job since signing from Monaco, and this midfield presence was missing when we faced Real Madrid last season.
Georginio Wijnaldum should also start for us on Saturday, with Jordan Henderson completing our midfield trio.
Klopp looking for glory
The German manager was pictured having a discussion with the team as he looks to win his first trophy at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp has been a little unlucky in three finals and hopefully, it is fourth time lucky for him and us.
Alisson has been sensational for us since moving from AS Roma, and he could erase those memories of Loris Karius’ errors from last season.
Of course, all eyes will also be on Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch defender has made us a tough nut to crack, and hopefully, he can help us keep a clean sheet against Spurs.
