One of Liverpool’s heroes from the Champions League campaign believes there will be talks with the xlub about his future.
Divock Origi only scored three goals for Liverpool in the Champions League this season but two of those came in the 4-0 semi-final win over Barcelona at Anfield.
The 24-year-old also scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Tottenham in the final and was asked about his future.
The Belgian claimed there would be discussions after the international games (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“We will see after the international games, but I think there will be talks with the club.”
Journalist Kristof Terreur believes (h/t Liverpool Echo) there is a new deal for the 24-year-old as the Belgian came from nowhere to help us win the Champions League.
The youngster struggled on loan at Wolfsburg and was the third choice when it came to strikers this season.
However, he worked hard to move ahead of Daniel Sturridge, and Origi scored an important stoppage-time winner against Everton that set his season rolling.
The Belgian also bagged a late winner against Newcastle to keep our Premier League charge going, however, we lost out to Manchester City by one point.
Origi seems to have found his feet at the club again and it would be great if he continues his development under Jurgen Klopp for a few more years.
The Belgian could do with more starts, however, it is difficult seeing him line up in place of Roberto Firmino at the moment.
