Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool enter race for Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes
Record (h/t Metro) reports that Liverpool have entered the race for Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes
The 24-year-old enjoyed a fine season with Sporting and scored 28 times in three competitions. The midfielder racked up 20 goals and 13 assists in the league and even broke into the national team.
The report adds that Tottenham and Manchester United are also interested in Fernandes, however, Liverpool and the Red Devils are keen on the 24-year-old.
Lisbon are ready to sell their star, according to the report, and would want a fee of £71million for the midfielder.
The report adds that the player’s agent Miguel Pinho will travel to London this weekend to discuss his client’s situation with several clubs.
Manchester City were also interested in Fernandes but pulled out of any deal while United have asked for a meeting, according to the report.
Another midfield talent to join Liverpool?
Liverpool have the financial power to spend £71million on a signing if Jurgen Klopp believes the player will be a quality addition.
Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho have been expensive purchases recently, but the trio proved their ability last season.
Van Dijk is possibly the best centre-back in the world while Alisson was the Man of the Match in our Champions League final win over Tottenham.
Liverpool have several midfield options but they don’t score on a consistent basis. Fernandes would provide us with a lot of creativity from the centre of the park.

However, we have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita to call upon and provide us with a different dimension in the midfield.
