Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool could make a move for Federico Chiesa
Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Express) claims that Liverpool could make a move for Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa.
The 21-year-old scored 12 times and provided three assists for the Italian side last season and is currently with the national side.
The report claims that Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in the forward, with the Italian champions considered as the leaders in the race for Chiesa.
Liverpool let Daniel Sturridge leave for free at the end of the season, and the report adds that we are looking at other strikers such as Timo Werner.
The report adds that Fiorentina don’t need to sell their youngster as he is contracted with the club until 2022. Chiesa also spoke about it but claimed he was concentrating on the Italy camp (h/t Express):
“The interest of certain clubs makes me happy. But right now I’m at Coverciano [Italy training camp] and available to [Roberto] Mancini.”
A bright talent but untested in England
Chiesa seems to be a great talent for the future as the youngster can play in several attacking positions and is already a part of the Italy national team.
The 21-year-old, however, has limited games in European competitions for Fiorentina and would be a bit of a risky signing.
Liverpool also have youngster Rhian Brewster to call upon next season while Divock Origi did a decent job in place of Roberto Firmino.
