Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds could move ahead in race for Bruno Fernandes
Correio de Manha (h/t Daily Mail) reports that Liverpool could move ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham in the race for Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder enjoyed a wonderful season with Sporting Lisbon and scored 28 goals in all competitions. The 24-year-old broke into the national team and won the Nations League on Sunday.
The Portuguese is in the middle of a battle between the three Premier League clubs, but the report claims that Liverpool could be the most likely destination for the 24-year-old.
Tottenham are awaiting the resolution of Christian Eriksen’s future before making a move for Fernandes, according to the report.
Fernandes can play in several positions in the attack, and his versatility would be great for any club that signs him.
Fernandes admires Klopp’s Liverpool
Fernandes claims that he admires our style under manager Jurgen Klopp, and the report adds that this puts us ahead of fierce rivals Manchester United.
The 24-year-old would increase the goals coming from our midfield should he join, but the Reds already have a couple of quality midfielders who can do a similar job.
Naby Keita was getting into the groove before he picked up a season-ending injury at Barcelona, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned from a long-term injury.
