Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool yet to make contact with Lille over Nicolas Pepe
The Liverpool Echo (h/t Mirror) claims that Liverpool are yet to contact Lille over winger Nicolas Pepe.
The Ivorian winger has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with L’Equipe (h/t Mirror) reporting that Liverpool had already bid £70m.
The report claims that there have been no talks with Lille or the player’s representatives at this stage.
Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the 24-year-old Ivorian, according to the report, however, Bayern Munich are the favourites to land Pepe.
Klopp not looking at major changes to the team
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp is not looking to spend a huge in the summer window, but wants to build on his Champions League winning side.
Liverpool are in the market for a versatile forward, according to the report, as has Daniel Sturridge left the club for free.
Pepe scored 22 times last season in Ligue 1 as he helped Lille finish second behind Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ivorian has been one of the stars for Lille over the past two seasons, and it will be interesting to see where he plays his football next season.
The Reds could do with another quality attacker to provide competition to our front three. Divock Origi did a great job in place of Roberto Firmino last season and scored in the Champions League final too.

Xherdan Shaqiri also did a decent job out wide, but another world-class winger would provide Klopp with the options to play around with our attack.
