Liverpool FC transfer news: Italian journalist claims Liverpool have offered contract to Nabil Fekir

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims that Jurgen Klopp has reignited his interest in Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.

The journalist tweeted that Klopp wants to buy the 25-year-old from the Ligue 1 giants and the Reds have already offered Fekir a contract worth €4m a season.

The tweet claimed that Jean-Micheal Aulas wants at least €50m for the 25-year-old. Fekir enjoyed another decent season with Lyon as he helped them finish third in Ligue 1.

Fekir scored 12 times in all competitions for Lyon and racked up 9 assists as well.

The Frenchman was close to joining Liverpool last season but we backed out of a deal during the player’s medical (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The 25-year-old has just one year left on his current deal, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next season.

Fans don’t see a deal happening

Fekir was close to being a Red last summer but we did really well without him. We just missed out on the Premier League title but lifted the Champions League trophy.

The 25-year-old could provide more attacking prowess to the Reds, and he would be a great signing if we could get him on the cheap.

Many fans did not believe the Reds would pay €50m for Fekir or that a deal would even take place.
