Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds wanted Strakosha before landing Alisson last season
Alisson has been one of our best signings under Jurgen Klopp and helped us land the Champions League in his debut season.
The former AS Roma star joined the Reds for £66.8million (h/t Express), which was a record fee for a goalkeeper before Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Alisson kept a clean sheet in the Champions League final and won the Golden Glove in the Premier League but Corriere Della Sera (h/t Express) claims that Liverpool were after another Serie A goalkeeper.
The report claims that Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha was on Klopp’s radar before Alisson was signed from Roma.
The 24-year-old Albanian has been excellent for the Eagles over the years, and the report claims that Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in the keeper.
Strakosha is the first-choice keeper at his club and has been one of their best players in recent years.
Alisson doing his bit for the Reds
The Brazilian has done a lot of good work at Liverpool and the problem of our erratic goalkeepers in the past is long forgotten.
The former Roma star might have cost us a fair sum but we have to pay the big bucks for the best players.

The 26-year-old has also been helped a lot by Virgil van Dijk in keeping the opposition quiet and the keeper should have another stellar season for the Reds next time around.
