Latest Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah stars in Egypt’s friendly win over Guinea

Mohamed Salah came off the bench to help Egypt win 3-1 over Guinea in a friendly.

The Liverpool forward was brought on as a second-half substitute and recorded a couple of assists for the Pharaohs.

Egypt is hosting the Africa Cup of Nations, and this was the final preparation game for Salah’s team. The Pharaohs face Zimbabwe in their first group game on Friday and play DR Congo and Uganda in the other ties.

Salah had an excellent season for Liverpool as he won a second consecutive Golden Boot award in the Premier League. The Egyptian also scored in the final of the Champions League as the Reds won it for the sixth time.

Audacious skill on show by Salah

The Liverpool star had one great moment in the game as he turned the Guinea goalkeeper inside out in the second half.

Salah tried to score from a tough angle but the ball came off the post. Fortunately, a teammate was on hand to slot into an empty net.

This goal was similar to the one he scored against Bournemouth at the Vitality as he ran rings around Asmir Begovic but found the back of the net.

Egypt’s chances depend on Salah doing his bit for the team, and it seems that the 27-year-old is in fine form for the summer’s tournament.
