Liverpool FC transfer news: Divock Origi will not be sold by Liverpool in the summer
Liverpool will not sell Champions League star Divock Origi in the summer, according to ESPN (h/t Mirror).
The Belgian scored three crucial goals in our Champions League journey.
The 24-year-old bagged a brace against Barcelona in the semi-final second leg and scored the second goal in the final against Tottenham.
The report claims that the Reds will not sell the Belgian under any circumstance, even if he leaves for free next season. The Belgian did really well as an impact substitute too and scored crucial winners over Everton and Newcastle in the Premier League.
The report adds that Liverpool and Origi have been in discussions over a 12-month contract extension as the Belgian has just one year left on his current deal.
Origi searching for first-team football
The Belgian won’t be a starter next season unless Roberto Firmino picks up an injury, and that could be playing on Origi’s mind.
The report claims that the Belgian is no rush to sign a new deal as he seeks first-team football. The 24-year-old is happy at Anfield, but the Reds know they have until January to convince Origi to sign the extension (h/t Mirror).
