Latest Liverpool transfer news: Nathaniel Clyne favourite to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Sky Bet (h/t Football.london) have made Crystal Palace the favourites to land Nathaniel Clyne.

The Englishman is a graduate from the Eagles and moved to Southampton in 2012.

Clyne was signed from the Saints but has found his playing time limited at Liverpool.

The 28-year-old made one Premier League start for the Reds last season and was sent to Bournemouth on loan for the second half of the campaign.

The English defender could replace another right-back at Palace, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka set to join Manchester United in a £50million deal, according to Football.london.

The 28-year-old is a decent defender and a move to another club is the right option if he wants more first-team football.

The Reds cannot guarantee that due to the form shown by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

Further, Clyne isn’t suited to our style of play as Trent is a better attacker in the final third. The Englishman needs first-team starts as he is in the prime age for a defender, but he won’t be getting them at Anfield.

Sky Bet have made Palace 4/5 favourites to land Clyne while West Ham are second at 16/1 (h/t Football.london).

Championship side Leeds United and Bournemouth are also in the running and are placed 25/1 for the Liverpool defender.

Liverpool are covered in the right-back positions

Gomez can replace Trent in certain games as the right-back while James Milner and Jordan Henderson also slotted into that role last season.

Fabinho can also play in that position, and the Brazilian also did a great job as a centre-back last season.
