Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds don’t want to sell Mignolet despite Palace interest
Melissa Reddy wrote for ESPN claiming that Liverpool are not interested in selling Simon Mignolet.
The report adds that sources have told ESPN that the Belgian will remain at Anfield despite being linked with an £8m move to Selhurst Park.
The 31-year-old played second fiddle to Alisson after the Brazilian’s arrival from AS Roma. Mignolet only played in our domestic cup games as we exited both tournaments early on.
The Belgian is a decent keeper to have
The report adds that Jurgen Klopp, goalkeeping coach John Achterberg and the staff want Mignolet to extend his six-year stay, and Michael Edwards has not put a price on the 31-year-old keeper.
Palace’s valuation falls short of Mignolet’s worth, according to the report, and the Reds would consider selling the 31-year-old if the Belgian was excited by a club and an acceptable offer is made.
Mignolet staying would be great for the club
Although the Belgian would not get many games next season, his experience would be valuable to the Reds.
The Belgian seems to make the right noises behind the scenes and hasn’t been critical of his lack of games at Anfield.

We could push a young keeper as our back-up to Alisson, however, Mignolet is a tried and tested player, and would do a better job at the moment.
