Liverpool made their first move of the summer as they confirmed Sepp van den Berg’s move from PEC Zwolle.
The 17-year-old defender played 16 times for PEC in all competitions last season and is a U19 Dutch international.
The centre-back was happy with the move and claimed that Jurgen Klopp was one of the reasons why he came here.
The 17-year-old has a long way to go before he will start games for us, but he should be close to the first-team given he was starting games regularly for Zwolle.
Liverpool were in a bit of trouble at the start of the year with several defenders injury, and we had to play youngsters Ki-Jana Hoever and Rafa Camacho in some games.
Fabinho also slotted as a central defender while Jordan Henderson did the job of a right-back too.
Van den Berg would certainly come in handy in such situations, but he must be given time to acclimatise to his new surroundings.
Klopp has done wonders with young players since coming to Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see how Van den Berg develops in the coming years.
Joe Gomez also joined as a youngster and made a big impact under Brendan Rodgers initially, and hopefully, Van den Berg can have a similar impact at Anfield.
