Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds complete signing of Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle

Liverpool confirmed their first signing of this summer with PEC Zwolle’s Sepp van den Berg joining after his international clearance.

The Reds have agreed on terms with the 17-year-old after a deal was reached with the Dutch side (h/t LiverpoolFC.com).

The youngster played as a centre-back for Zwolle last season as he racked up 16 appearances for the Eredivisie side in all competitions.

Van den Berg is also a U19 international for the Netherlands and has four caps to his name at that level.

Speaking to LiverpoolFC.com, the youngster claimed he was feeling great after the deal and was excited:

“It’s just an amazing feeling.

“It is, for me, the biggest club in the world and it’s a dream come true. I am really excited.”

Van den Berg planning for the future

The youngster won’t be playing first-team games straight away and he added that Jurgen Klopp was one of the reasons why he made the switch.

Van den Berg believed this is the best place for his development to continue and wanted to play many games here.

Many Liverpool fans were pleased with the club making a signing in the summer, and some believed Van den Berg would be a great addition to the side.

Others wanted the Reds to sign more players in the window, and here are some tweets from our supporters.
